Positive behaviour guidance

Building confidence and responsibility

We create a safe, comfortable and nurturing environment where children can challenge themselves, develop friendships and express their feelings. Educators use encouragement, positive feedback and praise to help children succeed.

Self-esteem and self-discipline

Children are supported to understand their choices, take responsibility for themselves and others, and practise self-discipline. Educators listen, recognize feelings and help children find constructive ways to solve problems.

Redirection and logical consequences

When behaviour needs support, staff calmly redirect children toward a safe and appropriate activity. Logical consequences are connected to the situation and are explained with respect, helping children learn without shame or fear.

A partnership with parents

Families and educators work cooperatively and communicate openly about a child's needs, behaviour and progress. We maintain an open door policy and welcome parent conversations at all times.

Kidz in the Rockies does not use corporal punishment. Guidance is always respectful, constructive and focused on helping children feel secure.
