Medical
Children who have a contagious disease such as mumps, measles, chicken pox, etc… MUST be kept from the center for the amount of time specified by a medical doctor.
Illness and Communicable Diseases
When a child develops the following symptoms: a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, diarrhea, vomiting or rash and cannot participate in daily activities the parents will be called and asked to pick up their child. The child should not return until he/she is symptom free and well enough to participate. It is our belief that IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT WELL ENOUGH TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL PROGRAMMED ACTIVITIES (SUCH AS PLAYING OUTSIDE) THEY ARE NOT WELL ENOUGH TO ATTEND THE PROGRAM.
Medication
Medication can only be administered to your child when the correct medication forms have been filled out and signed. Medication forms must be filled out for each new prescription and must clearly state the dates and times to be administered and medication must be supplied to us in its original container. Please speak directly with your child’s caregiver if you require medication forms. Staff with current first aid certificates will only administer medication. We cannot administer medication “as needed”, there must be specific times indicated on the forms. Self administered medication such as Epi-pen and asthma puffers also require a medication form to be filled out by the parent stating that the child is capable of self administration and the times the treatment is to take place.
